Art Workshop: A Wartime Christmas, Imperial War Museum

A Christmas wreath workshop for all the family and plenty of history to boot at the Imperial War Museum

This winter, the Imperial War Museum is hosting a free arts and crafts workshop for all the family, with a festive themed history lesson in the mix.
Families will be taught to make their own Christmas wreaths whilst learning all about the Christmas traditions of the First and Second World Wars and discovering how Christmas was celebrated on the Home Front.
After creating their own, using materials provided by the museum, families can help decorate the IWM's Christmas wreath with hand-made lucky charms, inspired by the lucky numbers, coins and love hearts that featured in charms and tokens given as presents during the First World War.
This workshop is a great opportunity to get little minds interested in history whilst making the perfect home decorations.
