February Half Term Adventure Days in London, The Exploration Society
True to its name, The Exploration Society will children on some exciting excursions around London and beyond this February half term. All parents have to do is drop off the little ones at 8:30am at the meeting spot at the side entrance to the Natural History Museum on Kensington's Exhibition Road, and then pick them up from the same place at 5pm. All children need is a hearty packed lunch, snacks and a water bottle to keep them going and sensible, weather-appropriate clothes. Each day holds a different adventure and you can pick one, a few, or book the whole week for an utterly action-packed half term!

The week will get off to an energetic start with an excursion to England's best outdoor Laser Tag venue, Laser Mayhem in the Essex countryside. Kids will don camouflage fatigues and get a class on the art of avoiding enemies from leaders with real military experience. Once equipped with soldier skills, an epic laser battle will commence.
Then on Tuesday children will get up close and personal with some of natural world's most exciting creatures on a trip to ZSL London Zoo. Budding David Attenboroughs will learn about a vast variety of creatures, from London's zoo's new female Sumatran tiger to the the enclosure of tropical birds. There there's the hilarity of giraffe high tea and the delights of the famous London zoo penguin pool to look forward to. For the particular  brave, there are even some terrifying tarantulas to meet.
It's over to East London on Wednesday and Friday, where children can reach great heights at Mile End's mega climbing wall. after much scrambling and finding footholds -- plus a quick break for lunch -- kids will enjoy an altogether different physical activity and make a splash in the state-of-the-art pool at the nearby Olympic Park. A favourite training spot for plenty of famous acting, this half term the pool will host a 40 metre inflatable obstacle course for much slipping, sliding and splashing. [note, children must be confident swimmers].
Bear Grylls' fans and happy campers will love the wild woodland adventure organised for Thursday. The group will discover the secret wildernesses of Wimbledon Common and learn basic survival skills. First they will find out how to make a shelter and master basic knife skills, then the intrepid explorers will enjoy some outdoor games and crafty activities in the woods. The hard work's not over though: kids will warm themselves up by preparing (and scoffing) a hot meal on real army stoves. A packed lunch will not be needed, but children will still need a water bottle and snacks and plenty of warm, waterproof clothes.

Suitable for ages 9 - 14. Thursday's Woodland trip is also suitable for younger children, ages 6 - 8.
