Pop Art Week, Creative Arts Club

Best of the half term art workshops, London: creative kids ages 5-7 will learn about the techniques and history of Pop Art.

Pop Art Week, Creative Arts Club
The iconic bright colours and bold designs of Pop Art make it not only perennially popular, but also an accessible and exciting way for children to engage with fine art.
In this half term workshop Notting Hill's Creative Arts Club will give little ones a grounding in the history and themes behind artists such as Warhol and Lichtenstein, while also teaching them practical skills to create their own masterpieces. A trip to the Victoria and Albert Museum will give a context and background to the movement, then, armed with ideas and inspirations, the children will be invited to get creative back in the studio.
Rather than identikit activities, participants will get the chance to experiment with different media and incorporate their own personal memories and hobbies to make unique and modern artworks. In paying homage to Pop Art the children will use a variety of artistic techniques and materials, inducing paint, pencil, charcoal and collage. And, as a final exciting activity the children will turn their skills to fashion and design and make their own Pop Art style T-shirt.
This weeklong workshop is a lovely, active way to nurture your little one's artistic talent or appetite for art history over the autumn half term.
You can either book the sessions by the day (£45 per session) and just come to one or two, or book the whole half term week (£225).
