Plantasia, Kew Gardens
Discover the magical healing powers of plants this summer at Kew Garden’s Plantasia Festival. A jam-packed programme of events promises fun for the whole family.

The celebration of healing horticulture kicks off just into time for half term. Reconnect with nature on the Barefoot Walk, which offers a chance to free your feet and feel the splendid ooze of mud between your toes as you explore the ‘squelch’ zone and discover each plant’s different texture first-hand (or should we say, foot?). Expect squeals of joy as children get their feet dirty.

As you wonder around in Kew’s green oasis you’ll find plenty of oddities to engage youngsters' imaginations. Mrs M’s Cart of Creative Curiosities will unleash a cast of roaming performers two fill the garden and regale captive audience with lively stories.

Then, when summer holidays start, children can join in with a game of Croquet worthy of wonderland. The all-sing and all-dancing Kew Gardens World Croquet Team will turn this traditional lawn sport into a full blown spectacle, while at the same time teaching the team about the secret properties of plants.

The stunning setting and exciting events create an engaging way for fertile imaginations to have heaps of fun and learn about the mysterious medicinal properties of plants.
