Pinocchio: Jasmin Vardimon Company, Sadler's Wells

Pinocchio, the mischievous marionette whose nose grows longer when he lies, is brought to life by the Jasmin Vardimon Company at Sadler’s Wells this half-term

Jasmin Vardimon- Pinocchio
Award-winning dance-maker and Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Jasmin Vardimon has created a magical adaptation of the PInocchio fairy tale, based on the original storybook by Carlo Collodi.

Vardimon said:

“I find unique curiosity in re-discovering this original 1883 classic tale. Going back to the original Collodi's novel allow us to critically examine the assumptions of ourselves and others about what it means to be human.”

Dance fans of all ages can expect to enjoy insightful humour, engaging drama and witty observations in the Israeli choreographer’s latest family-friendly piece of dance theatre.

Her troupe of impressive dancers will take audience members young and old on a wonderful journey of discovery which sees the plucky puppet set out to prove himself worthy of becoming a real boy.

Vardimon has been a leading force in British dance theatre for nearly twenty years. Showcasing her distinctive theatrical choreographic and directorial approach, this Pinocchio combines physical theatre, quirky characterisation, innovative production, text and detailed dance to explore the meaning of humanity.

What’s more, the show is at Sadler’s Wells during the half term holidays. Even if nothing else can charm your youngsters, a trip to London’s dance house to see stunning dancers tell a classic fable ought to make their week off special!
