Bring the kids to Hampton Court Palace this May half term to witness more than 100 years of Barmy British history played out in the course of an hour on the lawns.

Pick a comfy patch of grass (unreserved seating) and watch the Birmingham Stage Company perform all the nastiest bits of history: Can Parliament survive Guy's gunpowder treason and plot? Who will stop Dick Turpin's dastardly horse thievery? And, most importantly, do you have what it takes to party with Queen Victoria?

In Horrible Histories, not only are all the nasty bits left in, but you'll also learn what the Groom of the Stool did for a living and which Queen's wig fell off as she was executed.

The open-air performances take place in the East Front Gardens of the palace, once the pleasure grounds of Tudor monarchs. Get the kids outdoors and witness history brought to life in the place where it happened.

Tickets for performance only: Adult £10, child £5, child under five free
Tickets for performance, palace and gardens: Adult £24, child £12
