Autre Ne Veut, Netil House

In recent years, New York has become the epicentre for a musical movement popularly dubbed as 'alternative R&B'. Escaping the mainstream trappings normally associated with the genre, artists such as How to Dress Well, BadBadNotGood and Jeremy 'Zodiac' Rose have produced a catalogue of glitchy and ethereal tracks from the comfort of their bedrooms. 

Autre ne Veut has emerged from this scene, swaying now towards the mainstream and the radio-friendly sounds of The Weeknd and Frank Ocean. The producer melancholically croons over his drum-machine with tenor vocals somewhere between the male half of Scissor Sisters and Prince. 

On 20 November, Autre ne Veut will venture out of his Brooklyn bedroom all the way to East London’s eclectic Netil House; an abandoned college and council office that now hosts an array of artists, filmmakers, fashion designers and musicians. His sensual production within the walls of this unique venue makes the event an ideal date night.
