Turntables, Hackney Wick

Something exciting is happening down by the waterfront amidst the warehouse of Hackney Wick. Brought together by a desire to combine great food and great music, six food traders with growing reputations across the city have come together to create Turntables, a cool but cosy food, drink and dance space fronting onto the Hertford Union Canal.
With three bars serving everything from cocktails to hot toddies, and food provided by a rotating selection of some of East London's best vendors - this week it's The Cheese Truck and their top-notch toasties, the best in 'dogs from Popdogs, or Bill or Beak's impossible choice between braised duck and pulled pork – it's the perfect spot to keep out winter chills (though it's probably still worth packing the knitwear).
After you're fed and watered, they invite you to get the blood flowing on the Turntables dancefloor, with DJs spinning 'til 11 and some big names scattered amongst the line-up – Krankbrother have already stopped by once, and there are rumours of more big names on the way (Skream has been spotted in the area...).
With fire pits and heaters keeping chills at bay, and constantly evolving décor courtesy of some of London's best street artists, Turntables' cosy spot down by the water (and only a couple of minutes walk from the Overground) is the perfect place to ease into a Friday or Saturday night, and when it all wraps up you can move next door to Shapes, who are working with the Turntables crew for a seamless transition into a late-night warehouse party.
