Cult English shoegaze band Slowdive will play two more London shows at the Forum in Kentish Town this December .

The band played their first gig in 20 years at the Village Underground earlier this year after a surprise reunion was announced on Twitter.

Slowdive were an important part of the shoegaze scene that flourished briefly in the early 1990s.

Drawing on the ethereal guitar noise and whispered vocals of scene progenitors My Bloody Valentine , Slowdive constructed sheer soundscapes of shimmering noise, but brought their own clean, ambient sensibilities into the mix.

After releasing three albums (Just For A Day in 1991, Souvlaki- their masterpiece- in 1993, and finally Pygmalion in 1995) the band split, with members Rachel Goswell, Neil Halstead and Ian McCutcheon going on to form Mojave 3.

The Village Underground show sold out in minutes, so expect a clamour for tickets for the Forum shows. We advise you to bring ear plugs.
