The Roundhouse will be the venue for two Interpol tour dates. UK audiences can again enjoy the New York post-punks' live show, after a long hiatus, in February 2015

Moody New York post-punks Interpol return to the UK with two dates at the Roundhouse next February.

The band are set to release their first album in four years this September, and tickets to their world tour are selling quickly - one of the Roundhouse dates is already sold out.

Interpol arrived from the New York indie rock scene in 2002 with their universally acclaimed debut Turn On The Bright Lights . Their staccato sound and propulsive rhythm section drew comparison to the original post-punk bands of the 1980s including Echo and the Bunnymen and Joy Division. Lead singer Paul Banks’s low, haunted croon’s similarity to late Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis’s delivery didn't do much to dispel the suggestions either.

New album El Pintor is scheduled for release on 8 September this year and will be the first Interpol recording not to feature their influential bassist Carlos Dengler. Dengler’s driving, post-punk-inspired playing added an immediacy to their music.

After Dengler’s departure Interpol decided to go on hiatus, and their tour earlier this year was their first since 2011

Fan footage from recent concerts showing material from the new album suggest that the loss of their original bassist hasn’t dulled their abrasively metronomic approach to indie rock. The live performance shows that the band’s sound has lost none of the sinister bounce of earlier singles like Slow Hands and Evil .
