Sustainable eating has already reached the mainstream, with vegan menus and plastic-free packaging on offer every which way you look. Now, it’s London's drinking scene that's getting the sustainability treatment. Tap 13 in Tooting's Broadway Market is a zero-waste tap bar. As its name suggests, there are 13 taps linked to 13 kegs, which cover four different drink types, from beer and cider to wine and cocktails.

The cocktail selection is supplied by One Point Eight and currently consists of an Espresso Martini, Blood Orange Cosmo, and Rhubarb and Rose Spritz. The wines are supplied by Borough Wines, with each keg said to be the equivalent of 32 bottles and saving 16kg of glass. Meanwhile, the cider comes from the Real Al Company and the beer from a combination of Austrian lager company Stiegl and South London brewery Bullfinch.

All the kegs are recyclable and their use helps eliminate the need for any single-use disposables. With fewer seats than taps, the bar is small, however punters are free to take their drinks and wander round the market’s various food stalls or find a space at its communal seating area.

Thanks to its eco-friendly operation, Tap 13 is a bar where your drinking can help save the planet.
