Tokimeitē, Japanese restaurant, Mayfair

Tokimeitē is about to be London's hottest Japanese restaurant: find it in Mayfair headed by a multi-Michelin star chef.

Tokimeitē, Japanese restaurant, Mayfair
This is top chef Yoshihiro Murata’s second attempt to crack the London scene, but with the lessons learned from failed experience (his 2012 restaurant Chrysan was a flop) combined with a whopping seven Michelin stars across his three Japanese restaurants, we’re confident that this time his London venture will prove a success.

Tokimeitē will be serve up Murata’s modern Japanese fare, cooked, we expect, to perfection. Expect plenty of Wagyu beef, along with specialty dishes cooked over the Josper charcoal oven and Robata grill. An extensive range of premium sakes, shochu and whiskies will complement Tokimeitē's cuisine.

The restaurant takes its name from a colloquial Japanese expression that describes a sense of anticipation or ‘butterflies’. With Murata’s promise of an amalgamation of deep tradition, delicate flavours and exquisite presentation, we think that sounds pretty accurate.
