Sex in the Pan: Pop-Up Food & Live Music
There are few pop-up events in London that sounds as appetising as Sex in the Pan. After two hugely successful events, the high-end supperclub – which marries Michelin-starred chefs curating a menu-gourmande with super-star DJs and live bands orchestrating the pitch perfect accompaniment, is back for one night at Mode in Notting Hill. Join them as they create passion in your hearts, soul in your ears and lust in your taste buds: West London just found its mojo.
Noma chefs meet in Notting Hill restaurant
Chefs from the World’s number 1 restaurant, Noma, will be creating the menu: the indulgent nine-course menu promises a tantric dining experience. Noma – which has offered a Nordic menu of locally foraged ingredients since opening on Copenhagen’s waterfront in 2004 – holds two Michelin stars and is solely responsible for the foody world’s rethinking of Scandinavian cuisine.
Forget pickled herring and Ikea Meatballs, think sweet shrimps wrapped in ransom leaves, mahogany clams and fermented wild plums. Slap bang in Copenhagen’s trendiest district, the 45 seat restaurant receives over a thousand reservation requests a day. Sex in the Pan offers you the chance to eat Noma food in London, Notting Hill’s cocktail bar Mode providing the seductive ambience. Trendy restaurants in London have nothing on this latest gastronomical offering – direct from Copenhagen.
Beyond the food
The extraordinary 9-course menu isn't the only reason to get booking: Sex in the Pan are curating an evening of the very best musical accompaniment for the very best food. ‘If music be the food of love, play on’ says Duke Orsino in Twelfth Night, and Sex in the Pan’s sensual extravaganza is provided seductive sonorous support by Norman Jay, the veteran DJ who needs no introduction in Notting Hill. His upbeat blends of your favourite soul, funk, disco and the like have been a carnival mainstay since its inception, and here he attempts to outdo Noma’s wild garlic mousses with Luther Vandross’s.
Book to avoid disappointment: this is not to be missed.
