Afternoon Tea at the Oscar Wilde Bar

Oscar Wilde's favourite haunt serves up a bounteous Afternoon Tea. Mother's Day in London shouldn't be without a spot of teatime tradition.

Afternoon Tea spread at the Oscar Wilde Lounge
Anyone stuck for things to do on Mother's day in London can find solace in the sanctum of the Café Royal Hotel's Oscar Wilde Lounge – so named due to the poet's frequent visitations. Their London High Society Afternoon Tea menu features a richer range of dishes than your traditional Afternoon Tea, including the likes of wild boar, crackling, pickled apple and mustard bun, a Mary Rose prawn cocktail and an absinthe green fairy macaroon. The Hotel's vast and gilt room is an iconic feature of Regent Street and was recently restored to its original Louis XVI detailing. For an Afternoon Tea that's as steeped in tradition as a Twinings tea bag.
