Le Chalet, Selfridges

The new rooftop lodge at Selfridges, Le Chalet pop-up restaurant, features an indulgent winter menu and the best in alpine luxury

Le Chalet, Selfridges
Come winter, many of our favourite rooftop bars in London shut their doors due to the icy elements. Not so at Selfridges, however, where the seasonal change has provided an excuse to transform their summer roof bar into a cosy mountain retreat.
This candlelit alpine haven promises to provide welcome respite after a long day’s Christmas shopping, with mulled wine and a hearty menu of rotisserie meats and fondues on offer. A pop-up, Le Chalet is a collaboration with Des McDonald, who previously ran Selfridges’ popular summertime ‘On the Roof With Q’.
We are particularly looking forward to sampling the dessert menu, designed by Des McDonald’s head pastry chef, Siobhan Ambrose. Be prepared, however, for a difficult choice between the indulgent black forest gateau and her specially created eggnog snow egg...
With a log cabin porch and hot chocolate cocktail bar on the terrace, Le Chalet promises to bring the best of Alpine luxury to the heart of central London.
