Caravan Exmouth

As the second event in their series of Quarterly Session feasting dinners, Caravan will host Grass Roots on Monday 8th September at their  Exmouth Market  restaurant

Caravan has expanded into two fashionable eateries, at King's Cross and Exmouth Market, with the original Exmouth space offering a relaxed, neighbourhood vibe. Floor to ceiling windows open onto outside tables, adding to the people-watching, community buzz. Serving excellent brunches, the restaurant is deservedly popular throughout the day with queues often forming outside due to a no booking policy. Their menu is well thought out and well travelled, with the "Orange scented pancakes, blueberries and vanilla butter" providing an upmarket cure to any hangover. Caravan has a laid-back attitude, managed by efficient and friendly staff, and the Antipodean influences of Executive Chef, New Zealander Miles Kirby, are obvious.

KIrby will host this event on the al fresco terrace at the Exmouth Market restaurant as a perfect send off to the lovely British summer we have had this year. Grass Roots will use only homegrown, local produce to produce a four-course seasonal feast. King’s Cross Skip Garden will be providing fruit and vegetables, as well as a complimentary Skip Garden Honey Cocktail to welcome all guests. King's Cross  Skip Garden is a community youth project that creates sustainable vegetable gardens in moveable spaces. It has expanded to now provide food to numerous cafes and restaurants in the local area. Their produce will enhance the Grass Roots menu, such as desserts including, ‘Semolina cake served with Skip Garden honey, rosemary cream and seasonal berries’.

Adhering to the Grass Roots theme, bespoke cocktails will be available, such as the ‘Border Herb Martini’ using herbs from Caravan’s own garden. A roots DJ will also be playing a reggae and roots revival set on the terrace to pass away the long summer’s evening.

Sittings will be at 7pm, 7.30pm or 8pm, and with only 50 places available, booking is essential. Tickets are priced at £38 per person.
