New Italian restaurant in Borough Market Padella serves up authentic Italian plates at reasonable prices.
Borough Market is London's foodie mecca. With suppliers from all over the country, and indeed Europe, it seems a sensible place to set up shop – especially if your focus is on uncomplicated, ultra-fresh ingredients, cooked the Italian way.
Enter Trullo: Highbury & Islington's incredibly popular Italian restaurant, with clean, simple design and unfussy cuisine. Now the Trullo team have ventured South to open Padella – a new fresh pasta restaurant in Borough Market, where all the pasta is made right in front of diners' eyes: fresh indeed.
Counter top seating over two floors with give Padella the feel of a local Italian trattoria, and dishes will be at highly competitive prices, with some dishes at only £7 a pop.
With a handful of antipasti, a simple compact wine list and a number of authentic Italian cocktails, it sounds like Padella is getting it right.
Padella opens on 24 March in Borough Market. (There will also be a soft launch from Thursday 24 - Sunday 27 with 50% off food).
