A rare chance to meet American designer Zac Posen: the man behind that Met Gala ball gown

Zac Posen light up dress, Met Gala 2016
You know American fashion designer Zac Posen, even if you don't know you know him.

This year, at the annual Met Gala in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, actress Claire Danes arrived on the red carpet dressed like Cinderella, in a baby-blue, hand-sewn, one-of-a-kind masterpiece of design, with a voluminous skirt and fibre optics that lit the dress up in the dark. Forgotten was Taylor Swift's Louis Vuitton thingy and Kim Kardashian's whatever-it-was. This was the dress of the evening. You've seen it. You know it. It was designed by Zac Posen.

Trained at Parson's School of Design in New York as well as London's Central Saint Martins, Posen has been building himself a global brand that encompasses day and evening wear, and is beloved by the likes of Uma Thurman, that stalwart of wearable fashion Michelle Obama, global superstar Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Dita von Teese.

The American designer, currently at the heights of his powers, is coming on a rare visit to London in which he will stop by the V&A for an hour-long discussion with writer and director Kinvara Balfour on fashion, design and his own life and career.

It's a hot ticket – especially now Posen has added both Creative Director for the Brooks Brother's women's collection and star of popular TV show 'Project Runway' to his CV.

With only two weeks to go until the great man comes to London, we recommend booking straight away to ensure you have a chance to see him speak.
