Tent London & Super Brands 2015, Old Truman Brewery

Head straight to Tent London & Super Brands 2015 during London Design Festival for rising stars and hot property designers from around the world

2 Flavor Paper Flowers, Seen only at Tent London 24‐27 September, London Design Festival 2015
Essential viewing during London Design Festival 2015 are the stellar exhibitions Tent London and Super Brands at the Old Truman Brewery, where fresh-faced and star designers rub shoulders. This year the focus is on exquisite craft and the unique traditions passed down through generations.
Tent London 2015
The public can browse the hundreds of independent designers peppered through these design exhibitions freely, but we recommend paying attention to the international pavilions on the top floor, where you'll find everything from Scandinavian chic to Czech glass.
Scandinavian Love
For sleek Scandinavian wares make a beeline for 100% Norway, where 33 top designers are on display in a brand new format produced by Fuglen (the brains behind Norwegian Presence at Milan 2015). Visitors will also appreciate the new Finnish Pavilion called 'Finnish Form', and the delightful Swedish section.
Korean Craft & Design Foundation
Over in the Korean display, traditional making skills get a contemporary twist in the gorgeous Constancy & Change installation themed around simplicity and calm. With 190 works of elegant Korean crafts in ceramics, metal, paper, bamboo and more to enjoy, don't miss Kim Soo Young & Choo Ki Sang's brass tableware inspired by presents to the King and Kim Seol's vivid lacquerware made from refined sap.
Design and Crafts Council of Ireland
Meanwhile, craft heritage and contemporary design also get a feature in the Irish section Ó (meaning 'from' in Gaelic). From furniture maker Snug and stone mason Hennessy & Byrne to Aodh Furniture and live weaving by Mourne Textiles, you won't want to miss Ireland's addition to Tent London.
Czech Trade
We are also in love with the fantastic glass creations from the Czech Republic, including installations by Preciosa Lighting - who also made chandeliers for the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Look out for designers Evans Atelier and Kolektiv for your hit of glass magic.
Independent Designers
There are heaps of smashing designs to see outside the country showcases. For more craft inspiration we recommend stopping by the ceramic design studio The Ceramicists and phenomenal textile work by Karin Carlander. E-commerce website Etsy is also worth a look with delightful crafts from 40 British makers. You'll also want to see Daniel Schofield's first solo show - this young Sheffield graduate made a splash at DesignJunction from LDF 2014. But the big ones to watch this year are Dome Studio, the emerging furniture designers Tom Whiteway and Jonathan Blayney that have come up with a brand new EditWall Tile range.
Dulux
Colour magicians Dulux get ahead of the game with their annual global trends forecast and invite some of the hottest design talent to interpret the Colour of the Year 2016.
Super Brands 2015
Super Brands fully lives up to its reputation of bringing hot property design names to the capital this year with a number of fresh faces and old favourites. Berlin furniture designer Sebastian Scherer makes his debut with Neo/Craft while Swiss brand Yask puts nature first with its lovely selection. We're particularly excited by the new furniture brand Jo Wilton and Mirka Grohn, which combines British and Finnish design principles. A small selection of lacquered steel pieces from the London workshop will be on offer.
But the big hitters to see include the Swedish furniture manufacturer Lammhults and Design District 2015 Award winners, the Dutch brand eQ+ with their Alumni Collection.
EATAIPEI
Then there are the curious culinary delights at EATAIPEI from 2016 World Design Capital Taipei, who are giving a taste of what's to come. Hot brands to see include Poetic Lab, KIMU and Pilu Wu for their stellar installations and crafts. And if all that is to much to handle - you can always take a break in the Swedish Pavilion & Design Café tucked away in the bustle of LDF 2015 and catch of glimpse of fresh trends at the Swedish design studio Cate&Nelson.
With heaps to get your head around, we recommend leaving plenty of time to make the most of these sumptuous design gems.
