Luxury watchmaker to Royalty Patek Philippe displays sumptuous pieces in new Saatchi Gallery watch exhibition

Patek Philippe, watchmaker extraordinaire gives a masterclass at the Saatchi Gallery this summer on the most luxurious watches around. The Watch Art Grand Exhibition reimagines the glamorous Great Exhibition of 1851 which took over Crystal Palace, and spotlights 400 pieces from the magical Royal Collection at the Patek Philippe Museum, Geneva.
Highlights include the yellow gold pendant watch filled with rose-cut diamonds and matching brooch that belonged to Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II's own open faced sumptuous watch which she kindly donated to the proceedings. You'll also get the chance to see pieces once owned by Franz Joseph I, Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary, and Oscar II, King of Sweden and Norway.
Much like that latest Kate Middleton dress which flew off the shelves, the young Queen Victoria started a wave of enthusiasm for the innovative new time pieces, popular for their revolutionary keyless aspect.
