TOUR - A visit to the Danish Ambassador's residence

Danish architect and design specialist Marie-Louise Høstbo, recently appointed as head of design at Fritz Hansen, will lead this tour of the Danish Ambassador’s residence in London,

The embassy was originally designed by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen, and is furnished with Danish furniture and design as well as an art collection curated by the Danish Arts Foundation. This tour will give an insight into the pieces in the context of a Modernist building.

TALK - Fashion upcycling with Anna Mason

British designer of luxury womenswear, Anna Mason London, have partnered with pioneering fabric resale platform Haines Collection to present a lampshade making and fabric upcycling workshop led by Anna Mason & Jules Haines, using offcuts from Anna Mason’s fashion collections.

WORKSHOP - Master the art of Kintsugi with Iku Nishikawa

Kintsugi gives broken ceramics a beautiful afterlife. It is a process that uses lacquer, sealants and metal powder to trace the lines of a breakage, and create something new.

More than a simple act of restoration, kintsugi makes a feature of the cracks formed in a moment of chance. This touches on classic concepts in the Japanese decorative arts, such as the impermanence of things, and beauty in imperfection.

Kintsugi practitioner Iku Nishikawa will lead the workshops and will instruct in the principles and techniques of kintsugi.

The sessions are intended as an entry point to a deeper art.

EXHIBITION - Earth and water: Revolution of Forms X Mexican Embassy

An online marketplace specialising in Mexican craft, Revolution of Forms is teaming up with The Mexican Embassy to curate an exhibition of Oaxacan pottery.

The exhibition will include work from a range of contemporary designers, such as Lucía Ocejo and Colectivo 1050° to name a few and will showcase how the region of Oaxaca, and its rich history and traditions have influenced their creations.
