GermanConejo and Gisella Galeassi
From its origins in the brothels and taverns of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, tango has evolved into one of the most engaging and internationally admired dance forms. It's an art which Tango Fire have been able to package and present like few others, in the process acquiring legions of fans the world over - the Tango Fire youtube audience is over 18million.

Tango Show: London meets Buenos Aires

For the coming programme at the Peacock Theatre, Flames of Desire, the exciting and varied cast include international stars of tango German Cornejo and Gisella Galeassi, dancing alongside some of the best couples from the great tango houses of Buenos Aires.

The live band will play music by classic tango masters such as Piazzolla, Pugliese and Gardel as well as other less known, but no less exciting composers.

The show’s light narrative thread traces the history of the tango from its beginnings amid the marginals of Buenos Aires through its evolution into a contemporary – and rather respectable - ballroom style.

Colour, intricate footwork, extraordinary understanding between partners and always an undercurrent of sex and desire… we defy anyone not to be transported to an edgier and more exciting realm when watching this extraordinary show.

For fans of Strictly Come Dancing, tango or not, this show raises the temperature by a good few notches; for them and everybody else it provides an evening to remember. You’re bound to find yourself essaying a tango step or two as you file out of the theatre.
