Alexandra Weierstall is a choreographer and multimedia artist, whose works span dance, installations, sound, text and images – all conceptual investigations into areas of human endeavour.

Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, Alexandra Weierstall’s work has been shown across four continents, from Europe to Canada, South America and Asia. Now London audiences have their first chance to acquaint themselves with her idiosyncratic approach to dance.

And here we meet creates a world where two dancers – Dani Brown and Evangelia Randou – develop new relationships between language, movement and space.

Choreographed on a score by HAUSCHKA, aka. Volker Bertelmann (a German musician best known for his works for prepared piano) And here we meet investigates the relationship between man and woman, the environment and choreography.

Nudity is a key part of the concept, perhaps denoting the work’s intention to go beyond surfaces to find hidden geographies.

Not for everybody, therefore, and definitely not for young children; but otherwise a welcome introduction to a new voice from Germany, one that will take London audiences on a unique voyage of discovery.
