It what promises to be a memorable evening, Sir Mark Elder conducts Rossini’s rarely heard and hugely challenging opera Semiramide, in a concert performance with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Opera Rara Chorus.

Albina Shagimuratova sings the demanding role of Semiramide, Queen of Babylon, trapped in a web of intrigue and revenge, with the Mexican tenor who has already caused a sensation at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Javier Camarena as the Indian king Idreno. Stand by for an evening of vocal fireworks and vivid storytelling.
