Secret Cinema: Secret Cultural Protest
In solidarity with the refugee migrant crisis, Secret Cinema have announced a secret film screening of a related film, taking place at a central London location, in support of this weekend's citywide protests. The screening aims to mark the launch of an initiative by Secret Cinema and other charitable bodies to install mobile cinemas across refugee camps in Europe, in order to establish a greater 'cultural dialogue'. This will commence with the first screen being set up in the Calais 'Jungle' on 12 September.
The Secret Cinema screening in London will be one of many simultaneous global screenings of the film, which is so far confirmed to be showing in France, Japan, Kenya and Tunisia. We can't tell you what the film is, but we can say that it's a deeply moving, brilliant piece of cinema on a topic highly pertinent to the current political situation in Europe.
