While We're Young

Frances Ha director Noah Baumbach brings an all-star cast to the silver screen with his latest heartfelt, offbeat comedy.

Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts in 'While We're Young'
We can’t wait for the end of this month to bring the release of While We’re Young, the latest offering from Oscar-nominated Noah Baumbach; the indie-comedy director and writer behind critically lauded hits The Squid and The Whale (2005) and Frances Ha (2012).
The film, which stars a powerful combination of Emmy-winner Ben Stiller (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), two-time Oscar nominee Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive, Birdman), Mamma Mia actress Amanda Seyfried and the ubiquitous oddball comedy actor Adam Driver (Girls, Inside Llewyn Davis), follows Josh and Cornelia (Stiller and Watts), as a childless New York couple in their mid-forties surrounded by friends with babies. In the midst of a mid-life slump, the pair find reinvigoration through a friendship with two twentysomething hipsters who have passion for vinyl, typewriters and the hen that lives in their apartment.
For anyone who's seen the charming Frances Ha, Baumbach has a talent for producing off-beat, heartwarming comedies with great humanity and Baumbach's distinctive – sweet but never cloying – sense of humour. Shot by frequent collaborator Sam Levy and inspired (according to Baumbach) by “spending a lot of time with young people,” this is a film that has been generating serious festival-buzz and comparisons to the best of Woody Allen. Not one to miss.
