Next Time I'll Aim for the Heart + Q&A with Guillaume Canet

The Ciné Lumière hosts a screening of the true crime story of Alain Lamare – followed by a discussion between director Cedric Anger and internationally renowned actor Guillaum Canet.

Next Time I'll Aim for the Heart + Q&A with Guillaume Canet
French actor Guillaume Canet stars in stylish thriller La Prochaine fois je viserai la coeur (English title Next Time I'll Aim for the Heart) from director Cédric Anger, based on the shocking true story of Alain Lamare.
Canet rose to fame in his role alongside Leonardo Di Caprio in international film phenomenon The Beach, and since enjoyed some starring roles in French cinema, including 2003's Love me if you Dare (French: La Jeux d'Enfants), where he acted alongside Marion Cotillard, with whom he subsequently began a relationship. He has since turned his hand to directing, and was awarded a César for Best Director in 2006. The event will be a good opportunity to get up close and personal with the award-winning actor-cum-director, as well as to catch a film that addresses such a contentious and highly publicised subject.
Next Time I'll Aim for the Heart tells the story of an efficient, meticulous police officer, played by Canet, who is investigating a serial murder case between the years of 1978 and 1979, in which a number of young women in the French town of Oise have been brutally killed. The revelations that followed the investigation went down in crime history, going as far as to shake the foundations of the French justice system.
The film will be screening at the French Institute's Ciné Lumière this Thursday, 22nd January, and will be followed by a Q&A with Anger and Canet. A must-see for film buffs and fans of Canet's work.
