The secret to bright and beautiful eyes

Olivia Colman’s makeup artist shares her secrets

The secret to bright and beautiful eyes
The Crown actress, Olivia Colman recently took to the red carpet for the premiere of the latest season of the historical drama and the beauty world looked on in awe. Olivia look radiant, with the most bright and beautiful, brown eyes. In fact, she looked so bright-eyed (and bushy-tailed) that beauty aficionados the world over, demanded to know what the secret to her beauty look was. Lo and behold, the lady behind the look, celebrity makeup artist Polly Osmond, revealed all.

Polly actually used a nifty beauty trick by running a silver shade of eyeliner near the lash line to brighten and accentuate Olivia’s eyes. “To make the eyes pop, I used Lancôme's Le Crayon Miracle", told Osmond. "It helps to remove any red along the water line."

The silver cancel any redness around the rim of the eye which is often associated with being tired or run down, the blue undertone in the silver shade will compliment the white of the eye, making it look brighter and clearer, resulting in a very polished and wide-awake look.

The silver trick can also be a subtle and easy way of tipping your hat towards the metallic trend that comes around every Christmas, without the danger of feeling too overdone. Just swipe across the waterline à la Olivia, swish across the upper lash line to add festive sparkle or add a cat-eye flick to elongate the eye for more drama.

Here is our pick of the best silver eyeliners out there...
