These three Chanel fragrances are sensory souvenirs of Gabrielle Chanel's holiday destinations

What do you think of when you picture holidaying à la Gabrielle Chanel? Nautical striped linen and glittering oceans? Wide brimmed sun hats and long-stemmed cigarette holders? It's an evocative notion. And now it's one that Olivier Polge is riffing on for Chanel by creating a line of three sensory souvenirs of her most-cherished holiday destinations, Deauville, Venice and Biarritz.

The new bottles are designed to be flat (like alcohol flasks), and have a brand new spray feature that allows for a more generous spritz.

Paris-Deauville

Gabrielle's first fashion collection was launched in the seaside town of Deauville in 1912. It's eponymous scent is designed to evoke 'a walk through long grass', and is blended with notes of orange peel, basil leaf and patchouli. Think dappled sunlight through the leaves and lazy, hazy summer days.

Paris-Biarritz

Three years after her launch in Deauville, Gabrielle Chanel opened a workshop and store in Biarritz. This fragrance is influenced by the ocean, and boasts subtle grapefuit and mandarin notes with highlights of white musk and vetiver.

Paris-Venice

Following the death of her lover in 1920, Gabrielle Chanel escaped to Venice in search of refuge and inspiration. This scent is formed from red fruit, punctuated with iris, cedar wood and vanilla.

The collection will be available for purchase imminently in store and online.
