Get Ready for Margate Wonderland Festival 2017

The brains behind Hackney Wonderland take over the original seaside resort for a Margate 2017 festival

Dreamland, Margate
There's something special about the English coast, even on a grey day. Margate in Kent is often hailed as the archetypal seaside resort and in recent years has enjoyed a renaissance as a hot spot for day trips or lazy weekends away from London. A thriving art community and the regeneration of the legendary Dreamland, the first (and best) seaside amusement park, Margate is definitely having a bit of a moment.

So it makes perfect sense that the organisers of Hackney Wonderland, Oval Space's resident weekend festival, have set their sights on the pretty coastal town for their next venture: Margate Wonderland will take over the entire Dreamland theme park for one day only on Sunday 28 May. Expect world class live performance from the likes of The Kills, Little Barrie, Broken Hands, Dead Pretties and Electric Child House, set against a backdrop of quaint Victorian amusements. This promised to be a totally unique day out, unlike any of the all-dayers you'll find in town.
