One of our favourite galleries in Mayfair, Marlborough Fine Art has been making waves in the art world for over 40 years and represented some of the biggest names around including Francis Bacon, Gustav Klimt, Jackson Pollock, Frank Auerbach and Lucian Freud. Pay a visit this summer for their radiant exhibition filled with starry artists and unsung masterpieces.
Highlights
With artists like Paula Rego and Frank Auerbach on the books, there are plenty of magical moments to choose from in the show. Look out for works by Marlene Dumas following her Tate Modern retrospective this year; controversial Maggi Hambling who stirred up at the National Gallery recently; acclaimed sculptor Anish Kapoor and Turner Prize winner Grayson Perry. We are also looking forward to catching a glimpse of work by British painter Lucian Freud and trailblazing artist Louise Bourgeois.
Unlike the enormous retrospectives at London's established museums, group shows across the Mayfair galleries often have the same calibre of work on a much smaller scale. A far more delectable bitesize art treat than a huge meal of masterpieces!

  • Gazelle

Walking into Gazelle is like entering a private members' club, discreetly signed, upstairs in an Edwardian Mayfair building with its own elevator. It is perfectly possible to dip inside for pre-dinner cocktail. For a post-dinner moody tryst it is most inviting too.
