London Design Festival: where to eat
LDF 2017 is the biggest design movement of the year, but its sheer scale can be overwhelming. When it all gets too much, slip into one (impeccably designed) chair and take stock of each London Design Festival district's food.
There are nine Design Districts this year spread over the capital: Brompton, Chelsea, Islington, Clerkenwell, Shoreditch, Mayfair, Brixton, Pimlico Road and Bankside: here's where to stop and refresh at each one. Make sure to note down the special LDF offers too.
This ambitious Italian is the younger sibling of Clove Club, the 26th best restaurant in the world.
The dishes created by chef owner Isaac McHale are described as "Britalian", and take risks. So there's spaghettini with Morecambe Bay shrimp and mace butter and grouse ravioli with potato sauce and whisky.
Luca encourages conviviality and all-day dining, but it's best suited to long, meandering meals in the splendid dining room. If you can drag yourself away from the Clerkenwell design trail, this is a good spot to relax and unwind.
