A prolific author, she’s gone on to pen six more novels, perfecting
her historically-minded craft and receiving an OBE for services to literature.
Her most recent book The Taxidermist’s
Daughter was a haunting evocation of that most gruesome of trades. It won
near universal praise, and rightly so.
First Story, a charity working with young writers, is now
offering the chance to join Kate for a literary lunch. The author will be in
conversation with the organisation’s co-founder William Fiennes, and later
taking part in a Q&A and book signing. What better way to spend a Monday
