What was happening in Debussy's life when he composed his ethereal pieces for piano? What does an exciting young composer like Nico Muhly do with an instrument that has attracted composers for centuries? What's so special about F sharp? And how do you cram Liszt, Bach, Gershwin, Chopin and many more into one sonorous weekend?

All these questions and more will be answered by the first London Piano Festival, devised, and in part performed by, Katya Apekisheva and Charles Owen.

Day-time and evening events include recitals by Alfred Brendel (7 Oct), a two-piano gala concert (8 Oct), and a jazz-based finale with Julian Joseph (9 Oct), as well as an exciting morning ride for children through the colourful world of the piano (9 Oct). Book for three events and claim a 30 per cent discount.
