Come fly the friendly skies and soar over Somerset House this June with free family drop in workshop: Birds Eye View. Multimedia artist Gareth Owen Lloyd, whose work specialises in installation, film, photography, and cutting-edge technology, will lead the day aviation exploration and artistic creation, sending kites, flying machines and any other airborne masterpieces into the sky to look down upon the area.
A programme parter to the London Festival of Architecture, this children's activity encourages youngsters to get to grips with building structures and explore the world of flight, lifting off from balconies and fountains throughout the grounds and building little worlds to explore.
Free for families with accompanied children aged 6-12 years.

Jidori is London’s major yakitori restaurant, a popular type of eatery in Japan where the menu consists of one main dish: chicken skewers. Here you can sample a wide range of these Japanese-style kebabs and more to get a flavour of authentic Japanese street food. The tsukune minced chicken skewer and katsu curry scotch egg are particular favourites of ours.

  • Beaufort Bar at The Savoy

Nothing quite matches the glamour of The Savoy. One of the most famous hotels in London and located on the vibrant Strand, The Savoy is home to a range of luxurious restaurants and bars. Beaufort Bar is a particular favourite of ours, not only because of its trademark cocktails but because of its colourful history. The bar itself was once a cabaret stage used by the likes of George Gershwin and Carol Gibbons, and the menu, inspired by the many famous faces that have graced the halls of The Savoy, takes you on a journey back in time.
