Breakfast Pimlico: Restaurant opening Cambridge Street Café

Cambridge Street Café opens its doors in Pimlico on 24 August, and will be serving three wholesome meals a day with a focus on fresh, seasonal produce. Nestled within the Artist Residence (a 10-bedroom hotel), the Pimlico café’s delightful dishes will be available to hotel guests and visitors alike. Head Chef Radek Nitkowski, of Dean Street Townhouse fame, has designed an all-encompassing menu to tickle every customer’s taste buds. This new opening adds to the limited number of restaurants in Pimlico, lunch at the café will mean a welcome addition to dining in SW1.

One of the hottest new places to eat in Pimlico

Thanks to its funky pin board coiled with bed springs and eclectic collection of artwork, the Cambridge Street Café, Pimlico will surely enchant design enthusiasts as they perch on stools around the copper-topped bar. There will even be an Okishima & Simmonds’ flower stall in the restaurant where you can pick up that last minute bouquet.

A kick-start to your day: Pimlico breakfast

The Pimlico breakfast menu will boast classics dishes such as eggs benedict and banana pancakes, along with a variety of fresh Millers Bakery pastries and newspapers. For the health-conscious, the quinoa with peach, goji berries, mint and yoghurt is a solid choice. When running late, you can also pick up All Press coffees and Flint & Co teas to go for a burst of caffeine to keep you smiling through the morning.

Light and hearty meals: lunch near Victoria

From midday, sandwiches replace pastries on the Cambridge Street Café’s marble topped bar and chefs will whip up salads and heartier mains in their open kitchen: this looks to be some of the best lunch Pimlico has to offer. Dinner will be served from 5pm with a series of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes that concordantly harmonise with a concise, predominantly French wine list. With such a limited number of decent cafés in Pimlico, Cambridge Street Café means that anyone looking for brunch near Victoria, or a quiet spot of dinner in Pimlico can find solace in their healthy, fresh menu.

    ABOUT THE CHEF

Radek Nitkowski was previously a chef at Soho's extremely popular Dean Street Townhouse – a boutique hotel and restaurant with a reputation for high quality British food served in informal yet chic surrounds. Here's hoping he brings some of that quintessentially British style to Pimlico's latest eatery.
