Borough Market is London's foodie mecca. With suppliers from all over the country, and indeed Europe, it seems a sensible place to set up shop – especially if your focus is on uncomplicated, ultra-fresh ingredients, cooked the Italian way.
Enter Trullo: Highbury & Islington's incredibly popular Italian restaurant, with clean, simple design and unfussy cuisine. Now the Trullo team have ventured South to open Padella – a new fresh pasta restaurant in Borough Market, where all the pasta is made right in front of diners' eyes: fresh indeed.
Counter top seating over two floors with give Padella the feel of a local Italian trattoria, and dishes will be at highly competitive prices, with some dishes at only £7 a pop.
With a handful of antipasti, a simple compact wine list and a number of authentic Italian cocktails, it sounds like Padella is getting it right.
Padella opens on 24 March in Borough Market. (There will also be a soft launch from Thursday 24 - Sunday 27 with 50% off food).
