Calling itself the only world-class modern Nordic restaurant in the US, Aquavit is coming to London after nearly 30 years of success in Manhattan and two Michelin stars.

The London restaurant plans to have a more informal interior than its New York counterpart, designed by Martin Brudzinski (of Sexy Fish, The Ivy, and others), which will showcase the best of Nordic designers, including a wall-mounted textile designed by Olafur Eliasson and silverware from Georg Jensen, uniforms by Filippa K and furniture by Svensk Tenn.

The contemporary Nordic restaurant will open in the stunning new St James’s Market redevelopment. The menu will be overseen by Emma Bengtsson, executive chef of the two Michelin-starred Aquavit New York, and Henrik Ritzen will be head chef (formerly of The Dover Street Arts Club and Lutyens).

The Blue Posts isn’t actually private, but feels it.

Xu has it all. It looks good enough to eat, the menu is thrilling and they're to be applauded for bringing proper Taiwanese dining to London. The service is beautifully judged and well informed. The only challenge may be getting a reservation, as almost all the critics love it.
