The spectacular Together for Dance Gala has been an idea three years in the making and is One Dance UK’s first major fundraising event. Boasting Dame Gillian Lynne DBE as Gala Patron and a stellar line-up, it looks set to be an unmissable occasion for dance enthusiasts.

Dancers from renowned companies including English National Ballet, The Royal Ballet, BalletBoyz, Company Wayne McGregor and Jaivant Patel Dance will generously donate their time and artistry in support of an organisation that acts as a ‘one stop shop’ for support services in the dance sector.

Among the top names involved are the Royal Ballet’s principals Zenaida Yanowsky and Edward Watson, and ENB’s Isabelle Brouwers.

As the UK’s national body for dance, One Dance UK is an industry collective formed by the merger of four key dance organisations: The Association of Dance of the African Diaspora, Dance UK, National Dance Teachers Association and Youth Dance England. Brought together this April, One Dance UK works on behalf of members and the wider dance sector to champion excellence in dance, support dancers’ health and develop projects for children and young people.

Former Principal Dancer of The Royal Ballet Mara Galeazzi is Artistic Director of Together for Dance. Working with Gala Producer Jim Fletcher, she has assembled a glittering cast of world-class dancers with the aim of creating, in Galeazzi’s words, “a must-see dance event that would capture the imagination of the public.”

A few tickets still remain for this chance to see some of the nation’s best dancers grace the stage of the Novello Theatre in London’s West End in support of One Dance UK’s valuable work.

It's a glittering event in aid of a cause well worth supporting.

  • The Delaunay

The Delaunay is an elegant dining room in the tradition of grand Viennese cafés, but for a quick bite you might want to pop into its informal café, The Counter. Either way, you are sure to be tempted by the offerings on display on the Delaunay's roaming cake stand.

There are four Rokas around London – Mayfair, Aldwych, Canary Wharf, and Fitzrovia – and each one provides a dark urbane corner for some of the best (if most expensive) Japanese food in London.

  • Jidori, Covent Garden

Jidori is London’s major yakitori restaurant, a popular type of eatery in Japan where the menu consists of one main dish: chicken skewers. Here you can sample a wide range of these Japanese-style kebabs and more to get a flavour of authentic Japanese street food. The tsukune minced chicken skewer and katsu curry scotch egg are particular favourites of ours.
