Zeus and Hera, Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath, Gilbert and George, Beyonce and Jay Z: history has given us its fair share of power couples. This September, Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and his wife, novelist Polly Samson, will discuss their creative relationship, as well as music, inspiration and their artistic processes.
Gilmour and Samson are both at the top of their game. The Elder Statesman of Rock inspires utter devotion: his Royal Albert Hall shows letter this month sold out in minutes.Gilmour may have broken hearts when he announced earlier this year that 2014's Endless River would be the last Pink Floyd album, but Gilmour's solo effort, Rattle That Lock, will be released this autumn.
Samson's recent novel The Kindness was received jubilantly by critics: a brilliant follow up to her novel Out of the Picture.
The pair have long been sources of inspiration for one another. Samson was principle lyricist on many of Pink Floyd's records, including The Division Bell, On An Island, The Endless River and, most recently, Rattle That Lock. They have also weathered many a storm together: most recently, their son, Charlie Gilmour's brush with the law in the aftermath of a student protest.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear two great artists discuss their work and relationship. Book now.
