The crowd that swarm this legendary gig venue may be bright young things, but KOKO is as ancient as its native crusty old Camden Town, and has been through many incarnations. It began life as The Camden Palace theatre in 1900 (and hints of its origin remain- look out for the balconies, vestibules and carved features) before becoming a cinema; and then a live music venue. It belonged to the Punks in the 70s, the New Romantics in the 80s and after its 2004 re-vamp, it remains one of the best venues to see new music in London- though a bit less grubby. Take a look at our reviews and recommendations, designed to help you book the best live music at Koko - be inspired by our London theatre guide!
