This National Gallery 2016 exhibition explores the significance of a painter's paintings, and why artists chose to buy specific works to line their walls and inspire them.
National Gallery exhibition: what to expect
Get to grips with the collections of celebrated artists like Van Dyck's Titian, Matisse's Degas and Lucian Freud's Corot in this innovative new show in the National Gallery Sainsbury Wing.
It's an excellent way to show off the National Gallery's collection as well as recruit some wonderful additions from abroad. This 2016 National Gallery exhibition also reveals a whole new side to our favourite artists - asking how much did these paintings affect their owner?
