Curated by Robert Upstone, former Director at the Fine Art Society, the latest Fortnum’s X Frank exhibition features 70 large-scale monochromatic works by Virtue, spanning all floors of the luxury London store. Specialising in monochromatic landscapes, Virtue is regarded as one of the most distinguished painters working today in the United Kingdom: he was awarded the post of Associate Artist at the National Gallery in 2003-2005, and works as an honorary Professor of Fine Art at the University of Plymouth.
This exhibition coincides with London Design Festival and offers visitors the opportunity to see an extensive set of works in London for the first time since his 2005 National Gallery show.
