Some exhibitions capture the public imagination, perfectly timed to tap into the zeitgeist, but if you want to see them you need to act fast. This autumn, everyone will talking about William Blake, immersive experiences and Moving to Mars. Here are the shows to book in advance, before they sell out.

William Blake, Newton 1795–c.1805. Tate

William Blake: The Artist, Tate Britain

William Blake was a prolific poet, a radical political thinker and a technically innovative visual artist. This is the largest exhibition of Blake's work since 2001 and his appeal only grows. This show will provide a window into one of Britain's most original minds and is sure to draw in the crowds.

Immersive experiences always do well and this autumn, London gets not one, but three such installations rolled into a single big-budget exhibition. Other Spaces is a series of audio-visual experiences created by the multi-disciplinary collective United Visual Artists (UVA).
