By Helena Kealey on 17/2/2017

Looking for London's March 2017 family highlights? Now that the watery sunshine is finally breaking through the thick winter clouds, we recommend celebrating with some innovative and exciting theatre, a night in a museum and a charming exhibition curated by Quentin Blake

The Velveteen Rabbit, Unicorn Theatre [STAR:5]

The Velveteen Rabbit, Unicorn Theatre

Returning to London after a successful run on Broadway is the Unicorn Theatre's Velveteen Rabbit adapted from Margery William's classic American tale by the same name.

The Velveteen Rabbit follows the story of a sweet toy bunny who wishes to one day come to life. After continually being neglected by his owner, he is finally noticed and loved. As their time together develops, he grows closer to being brought to life.

Linda Kitson, House of Illustration: family exhibitions London

Linda Kitson, curated by Quentin Blake, House of Illustration

Linda Kitson is famed for her line drawings, which have recorded seminal moments in British history. The exhibition coming to the gallery charts a lifetime of putting pen to paper and documenting historical events from the 1982 Falklands War to her most innovative ventures on the iPad.

She was the first female artist commissioned to accompany troops into combat, and offers a unique perspective on British history. A lovely introduction to the story of this small Island for visitors and youngsters in this quiet and lovely space near Kings Cross.
