London's best winter rooftop bars and restaurants

By Sudi Pigott on 16/10/2017

As the nights are drawing in, who says roof-top dining is only for summer? Whilst perennial favourites switch to winter with style – exuberant blankets and cosy heaters – many are launching new residencies from the ultra ethical to authentically Moroccan and Italian

The most ethical and historic

The Ethicurean, Somerset's multi-award winning restaurant in a Victorian walled garden, is coming to London for the very first time and bringing its wonderful produce too. Foodies have long been awaiting brothers Matthew and Iain Pennington who have an awesome creative, culinary reputation. This is quite some coup.

It is the winter residency at the roof top gardens of John Lewis, Oxford Street courtesy of The Gardening Society.

Seasonal, ethically-sourced and taking cues from historic London recipes, the hearty and imaginative menu promises the ultimate Welsh rarebit, star anise confit duck and chocolate and stout steamed pudding with inappropriate amounts of cream!
