Vaudeville revived: Edinburgh Fringe hit The Boy with Tape on his Face, aka Tape Face, is coming to the West End

For a silent comedy act, Tape Face has been making a lot of noise. Dubbed 'charming' by the Telegraph and the Independent, and 'a masterclass of mime' by The List, Sam Wills' reimagining of silent comedy has had three sell-out years at the Edinburgh Fringe and a place in the finals on America's Got Talent 2016. And this summer the New Zealander, also known as The Boy with Tape on His Face, is coming to the Garrick Theatre.

It's a show that blends homage to the masters of mime with modern music, household props and a lot of audience participation. And The Boy does it all with a strip of gaffer tape over his mouth.

Expect singing oven gloves and musical dustbins. Expect Harpo Marx and Marcel Marceau crossed with Tim Burton and Men in Coats. Just don't expect any banter.
