Pulitzer-winning playwright Tony Kushner (Angels in America) explores the search for perfection, both political and personal, in a world premiere at the Hampstead Theatre. The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures might not be the catchiest title, but with a searing story about a family making sense of an unrecognisable landscape, by one of America's greatest living writers, this new play is set to be talk of the town.

Tamsin Greig returns to the Hampstead stage to lead a cast that includes Lex Shrapnel (A Number, Young Vic) and Jessica Hynes (Spaced sitcom). Set in 2007 New York, the play tells the story of a family reunion in a Brooklyn brownstone. Expect a witty and shrewd observation of modern issues and, if The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide is anything like Kushner's Angel's in America, a contemporary classic.
