Michael Palin’s success is shaped by dizzyingly diverse passions: superstar of big and small screen, with Monty Python and A Fish Called Wanda among his many hits, Palin is also a presenter, best-selling writer, and intrepid traveller.

On December 9, the affable polymath takes to the stage of the Emmauel Centre to talk about Travelling to Work, a chronicle of media stardom and global adventuring. A master of the anecdote, the evening is sure to be full of playful digressions and good-humoured observations on the absurdities of a life spent in transit.

We can hardly think of a better companion to lead you on a whirlwind journey around the world. Expect highs, lows, the ridiculous and the sublime. A member of comedy nobility, Palin's joie de vivre is contagious. You're sure to leave with a smile on your face.
