Things to do in London this weekend: 19 – 21 July
From a lunar festival to a jazz street party, here's what not to miss this weekend
Ronnie Scott’s, an institution of the Soho music scene, is turning 60, and the jazz club is throwing a swinging street party to celebrate. Naturally there’ll be no shortage of live music with renowned jazz performers taking to the streets from noon until 6pm. Enjoy street food from surrounding gastronomic gems like Hoppers and Little Italy washed down with champagne cocktails. Kids can also get stuck into face-painting and balloon modelling in the afternoon.
If you have one too many musical instruments lying at home, the Ronnie Scott’s Charitable Foundation are also holding an Instrument Amnesty’ at the club. Donate your unwanted trumpets and triangles before joining in on the festivities, and these will be distributed to under-privileged school children across the UK.
